NEW YORK - Sony Electronics announced the official U.S. launch of QUALIA™, an initiative aimed at touching an emotional cord among consumers through products unique in technology, design and functionality. The products, which are subject to a rigorous approval process by Sony's top management, are the result of cutting edge engineering without any constraints. QUALIA, derived from the Latin "qualia" which means quality, is a Sony global movement aiming to touch people's hearts and to evoke strong emotional value with products and services that go beyond the boundaries of manufacturing and design excellence.

The QUALIA-004 SXRD projector is the industry's first full high definition home theater front projector featuring Sony's proprietary SXRD™ (Silicon Crystal Reflective Display) technology with 1080P native panel resolution. The QUALIA projector will be sold only through Sony Electronics' network of custom installation dealers.
