Since flat-screen televisions have come down significantly in price during the past few years, manufacturers have been sacrificing performance and certain technologies to make up for the lost revenue on the sale.

That is simply unacceptable. With the introduction of NuVision’s Lucidium Series LCD Collection, the days of poor performance and apathetic customer support are over.

If you haven't heard the name before, that just like Rotel or Bryston or Paradigm, or any other premium brand, you won't find NuVision HDTVs at Best Buy or WalMart. This manufacturer doesn't want their product displayed on a stack of boxes, poorly presented and poorly supported. NuVision offers a limited line of LCD models, designed and engineered to be at the higher end of the flat-panel market.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ, NuVision is a manufacturer of leading HDTV products sold through the full-service, high-end A/V (audio/video) market known as CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design & Installation Association). NuVision utilizes its trademarked brand and digital image processing firmware to provide superior performing products tailored to the needs of the CEDIA channel. Because upscale A/V consumers are frustrated with complex systems, end-users are seeking custom installers that integrate and install easy-to-use complete working systems. Every NuVision display is designed to effectively integrate within those systems.

"NuVision LCD televisions incorporate state-of-the-art technologies, such as NuVision€™s proprietary NiDO (NuVision Intelligent Digital Optimization), exclusive Deep Black LCD with 1000:1 contrast ratio, and NuControl bi-directional RS232 with polling. NuVision€™s NiDO (NuVision Intelligent Digital Optimization) circuit delivers a film-like home theater experience as a NiDO optimized picture ensures crisp, clean edges and silky smooth motion that is virtually free from artifacts. NiDO image processing technology ensures NuVision monitors provide world-class picture quality and excellent resolution. NiDO’s edge details, smooth motion, color optimization, and response enhancement are just some of the features that make NuVision€™s LCD televisions stand apart from the competition."

Given the current economic climate and the commoditization of HDTVs, it takes guts to go the high performance route these days. Pioneer tried it with its KURO plasma line, and Pioneer ceased production of the well reviewed brand in April. Achieving best in class performance requires product specific development costs that some corporations often aren't prepared to fund. In all fairness, Pioneer as a corporation has high overhead costs that a premium brand with its lower production runs just couldn't support.

NuVision is a smaller and more nimble company, and uniquely positioned to offer the video enthusiast superior performance products with installation-friendly features, and best-in-class customer service.

NuVision's LCD Collection has a lot to offer in the performance realm. NuVision has the versatility to attractively render both high definition and standard-definition content in a bright or dark viewing environment. It's ideally suited for the movie lover who plans to mate it with a high-end Blu-ray player, as this combination best utilizes features and lets you fully appreciate the display's strengths.

If you are looking for the class leader in flat-panel performance, It's NuVision.
